A Sophisticated Brownie
I recently came across this great recipe for Banana-Berry Brownies. I love this recipe because it’s a breeze to make and the fruit adds a sophisticated twist to a traditional favorite.
Banana Berry Brownies
1 package fudge brownie mix (follow box instructions)
Topping:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
¼ sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 to 2 medium sliced firm bananas
1 ounce semisweet chocolate, melted
In a large bowl prepare the brownie mix per box instructions. Spread into a greased and floured 12 inch pizza pan or pie dish. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth. Spread over brownie crust. Bake 15 minutes longer or until topping is set. Cool.
Just before serving, arrange strawberries and bananas over topping and drizzle with chocolate. Yum!
This makes a colorful and delicious dessert for your next picnic or party. Don’t forget to check-out MyPunchbowl for free invitations and party planning ideas for inspiration.
